The Cambrian Mountains, encompassing the romantically named Elenydd upland region, are an authentic wilderness of quite extraordinary beauty.

Geologically they consist of Ordovician and Silurian sandstone and mudstones, and stretch from Pumlumon to Mynydd Mallaen, home to numerous reservoirs, waterfalls and  pools .One of the best ways to explore this vibrant landscape is on foot, a fact reflected by the number of walking clubs that exist in the area.

Indeed five communities, Llandysul, Pont Tyweli, Bro Tregaron, Devil’s Bridge, Newquay, and Cardigan, have been awarded ‘Walkers are Welcome’ status for the levels of support, trail advice and facilities, that they provide for walkers in the county.

In our own locality, Clwb Cerdded Crwydro Caron/ Tregaron Walking Club offer a warm welcome for visitors, and have a full year round program of events with ample expertise to help you to enjoy your unique walking experience in this area.
